Diane L. Leipper






Diane has over twenty years experience in volunteer management for youth services, health care organizations, and crisis and disaster programs. She has been a program director, a trainer, a board member, and a volunteer for a variety of non-profit organizations. She has over ten years experience in database management systems for human service programs.

She is author of several articles including two published in The Journal of Volunteer Administration and one published in E-Volunteerism, an on-line subscription journal produced by Energize Inc. which she co-wrote with Bryan Leipper. Diane has been the creater or co-creater of a variety of innovative volunteer programs and resources for volunteer managers and for professional associations.

Diane received her B.A. in Social Work, minor in environmental studies from the University of Nevada, Reno. She has been an active member of the Association for Volunteer Administration serving on a variety of committees including chair of the Exhibits Committee for the 1994 International Conference, Regional Membership Chair, and two years as chair of the scholarship committee for the International conference. Diane has also been a long time member of the International Association for Volunteer Effort where she served on the steering committee for the North American Region, assisted in the development of a regional membership brochure, created a regional communications plan. She has been active in other associations such as American Society Directors of Volunteer Services, Northern California Association Directors of Volunteer Services, and National Association of Social Workers,

Her community involvement includes being a member of the committee for the development of the Nevada State Office on Volunteerism, volunteer for the 1989 Special Olympics, served on the Board of Directors for the Crisis Call Line as well as a volunteer counselor and as a trainer, served on the Advisory Board for the Center for Employment and Training, volunteered as a counselor and trainer for Planned Parenthood, volunteer for the local public broadcasting station, volunteer for the Sertoma Club at the Reno Air Races, served on the Career College of Northern Nevada Advisory Board, Saint Mary's Hospice of Northern Nevada Council, the Reno/Sparks Chamber of Commerce Special Events Council and membership in the Sparks Optimist. Diane has also been involved with the local United Way. She Wrote survey regarding volunteer involvement in non profit agencies and also wrote proposed class outline for volunteer administration for the United Way committee on volunteerism. She also served on the volunteer committee which was charged with the task of developing a volunteer resource center.

She is the recipient of the 1995 Comstock Sertoma Service to Mankind Award and 1988 Girl Scout Gold Award. Diane is listed in Who's Who in the West and Who's Who 2000, Millennium Edition

Diane is currently a partner in the Leipper Management Group, an association management company. Her emphasis is on human resources development including the development of board, member, and volunteer participation.
